Villain Round-up: Tuesday, May 20, 2007

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 12:05 AM

Rounding up the latest news from the "back capes"...

[SUPERHERO FLIX] Joss Whedon's latest brain-child, a 40-minute long online musical about an out-of-work supervillain titled Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, is almost ready to air on the web. Whedon spoke to SCI FI Wire about the project which stars Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day.

"It's about a low-rent supervillain [Harris as Dr. Horrible] who's trying to get into the Evil League of Evil and defeat his nemesis, Captain Hammer [Fillion] and work up the nerve to talk to the pretty girl at the laundromat [Day]," Whedon said. The idea occurred to Whedon a while back, and it was co-written by Whedon and his brothers, and brother's fiancée. They put the project together during the WGA strike, and were amazed at the talent they found to work on the show.

We'll kick it off with a shot of Kris' eardrums shattering at the onslaught of my Nuclear-powered chortle. Enjoy.
